I'm in a quandry and I have to decide.... (sorry - long!)
Rural house, but the kitchen is in a modern end of the house so no architectural features as such - just good views.
I think an in-frame kitchen might look too country, plus as there are a lot of windows and we have a full height fridge, the layout is pretty limited and I think the in-frame will be too limiting. Basically an L-shape with fridge, 600 unit, 900 range, 600 face of corner unit on one length. Then along the other length, an 800 drawer unit, an 800 unit to house the sink and waste (window above), free-standing steel dishwasher, then a 600 unit at the end.
And then a peninsula between 2 low windows which are on the wall opposite to the range.
The floor will be engineered oak, probably stained quite dark.
I'm thinking of fitting Ikea type abstrakt white gloss units on the base units so I can have drawers and a decent corner solution. Also the fridge is white so I hope it will blend in a bit. Then either a honed granite or lighter composite worktop. The island and an wall units can then be a painted in-frame type design - myabe in quite a strong colour as a definite 'offset'.
Is this going to look great in a slightly eclectic unfitted kind of way, or just odd??
