Any DIY ways of making garden wall safe for kids?

Dont know if this is the right section but here goes.

I have a 2 foot high/10 foot long brick wall separating the patio from the grass bit. I want to find a way of making it safer for when DS is in the garden if that is at all possible.

Has anyone got any ideas of what I could do? I'd rather not knock it down - the previous owner built it and concreteted it in so it would be a bit of a bugger to remove and it makes useful seating when we have guests. I did ask for ideas in B&Q but they looked at me as if I was speaking martian! Ta.

What is it about the wall that makes it unsafe?? - is it him falling on to the concrete that worries you ?? if so maybe look into finding that sponge rubber stuff they use in playgrounds??

sorry can't offer more help, a bit confused by your question, personally I wouldn't have worried about my DD with a 2ft high wall when she was tiny

Sorry if I wasn't very clear, i'm concerned about him falling and hitting his head on it, he's not very stable on 2 legs yet and rampages around the garden, he uses the wall for cruising along and as it splits the garden in 2 its hard to get him to avoid it. My brother hit his head on it when he slipped in my garden a few years ago so I know the damage it can cause.

Put something in front of it, a row of garden chairs, plant pots, sand/water table etc.

Some nice box hedging would give space and a soft landing next to the wall.

Got you, that makes sense, I remember my brother falling & head butting a small wall as a DC, so sorry probably me being a bit foggy headed too

As it's only going to be for a short while until he's big enough for it not to be such a danger, how about something temporary, that still allows him to climb etc - do you have any old duvets or sleeping bags that you can lay out over the wall when he's out there playing, maybe secure the bottom with tent pegs so that you can relax & not worry about it falling off - it will give the wall some padding which will be safer, but still let him play on it

presume its just the edge you are worried about - so will need this for relatively short time. you could get the some of that pipe foam insulation which would take the edge off a fall or draing piping perhaps....
