We're planning on diving a garage in two so we can leave the external door in place and use that area as a general dumping ground store.
The other half will be a study. The garage is part of the house so double skinned walls etc, concrete floor.
We need to get a wall built across which apparently has to have 30 minutes fire proofness (and have some thermal insulation properties, I guess).
I can't make sense of the Planning Portal! What should this wall be built of? The PP seems to think 2 layers of plasterboard is sufficient, but I guess that doesn't apply to a wall that will effectively be the back wall of a cold garage, so- concrete blocks (internally clad with battens, insulation and plasterboard)? I know that'll need proper foundations, too!
Bit obscure, I know, but if anyone has any ideas, I can move forward with the feasibility study I'm doing!
