How do I lay laminate in a L shaped hallway?

The long bit of the L is when you initially come in from the front door. Then it turns to the right and the shorter bit leads into the dining room.

Do I have the "planks" running up and down the longer length of the L, with the planks in the shorter length running at a right angle to the planks on the short length. Or do I need the planks all running in the same direction so on the shorter length they're running across rather than along?

Does that make sense?

I wouldn't turn the direction of the planks, decide which way you want them to go and do them all the same.
I prefer them running the length of the hall as it leads the eye in and seems more welcoming(can you tell this is how we've done ours?!), whereas going across shortens the hall (but if you're not keen on the length maybe you'll like this)

I think you're right, thanks Yorky.
