new kitchen being put in -when to paint walls?

Over the next few weeks our kitchen is being replaced. A,new wall is being built, new ceiling put in and rest of walls skimmed. Builder says walls and ceiling can be painted after new kitchen in but I think they should be done once the new plaster is dry before units go in so paint doesn't drip or end up on new units and when it is less fiddly to do. Any thoughts please?

I would do ceiling before and walls after

when they are moving the cabinets into place they can scuff up the walls and you end up repainting anyway

I would paint before and touch up after. Our builder/decorator said that painting before was standard procedure (I guess it's trickier after to paint round all the units etc and protect the new units from drips etc). However no one warned us that major kitchen companies (I'm looking at you Magnet) also think it's standard procedure to draw on said walls to do their measuring during fitting. Apparently shouting at them for leaving pencil lines that cannot adequately be removed all over a newly painted wall is deeply unreasonable Hmm

So expect a tad of touching up after.

Thanks for the replies, think we will definitely do ceiling before units go in, not sure about walls!
