Non yellowing white woodwork paint

I've been reviewing all the old threads on gloss and eggshell and can't seem to find the difinitive answer so I thought i'd start my own thread.

I'm about to redecorate my hall and it's going to be a real pain with tall ceilings and lots of woodwork so I don't want to have to do it again any time soon if possible.

Ideally I'd like a matt white woodwork. Which paint would you recommend. I really don't want it yellowing in two years time.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't want it to yellow at all use water based eggshell.

Sikkens Rubbol Satura. Oil based but doesn't yellow. Smelly though...

Water based won't yellow but isn't as durable.

Not quite what you asked, but I would always recommend that pink WHITE paint...it whitens as it dries for walls and ceilings. I did our room ceiling in it about 10 years ago, a year or so back we swapped rooms with dd, and so we stripped the paper off and repainted, and I was dreading the ceiling....but it stood up really well to the new PBW we slapped on the walls so I as saved a job!!

I think I used the crown version....but it may have been dulux!

All my wood work is white satinwood and I don't think that yellows badly at all, and although it is not completely matt it's not that shiny either!

So eggshell won't yellow buy potentially won't last. The hall has old wood up to waist height so there'll be a lot of wood work painted..

Will have to investigate the smelly stuff and pink as haven't looked into that..

I've used crown satinwood in other rooms (not long enough to test yellowing). Has anyone else had experience of this not yellowing? It is a bit shiny for what I ideally wanted though.

Thanks for your responses. Off to google..

Water based eggshell will last, it's just not quite as hardwearing as oil based eggshell (but the oil on sale now has less oil in it), but it is eggshell so it is hardwearing.

Oil based eggshell/satinwood may yellow depending on brand but will last.

Water based eggshell/satinwood may be less durable depending on brand but won't yellow.

As soon said there is less difference than there used to be.

You need to look for recommendations of specific brands really - try decorators' forums?
