Tile suggestions for a small loo/cloakroom - fired earth?

I guess the subject says it all :)

I'm having a downstairs cloakroom done - it'll be a tiny space and I want it to be beautiful! I'm thinking of fired earth tiles but I'm bamboozled by the choice. The house is traditional Edwardian but I'm open minded about the loo.

Wondered if anyone had done similar?

I'm going natural slate in a small downstairs loo. Hoping it will look spa like rather than just dark..

We had these fired earth dragonfly and plain cream FE tiles over the basin and the walls were painted a jewel coloured blue similar to this www.craigandrose.com/steel-blue which picked out the little bit of blue in the dragonflies. It was really stunning as I think you can get away with strong colours in a small space. It really was the most commented upon room in the house!

We managed to get the dragonfly tiles from their outlet shop somewhere vaguely near Oxford I think? They cost a fraction of the usual price and as we only needed a few it wasn't the vast expense that you'd think it would be.

I've always loved real mother of pearl tiles. Not mosaic though.

We did without tiles with a concealed cistern behind match boarding. The loo and sink back onto this boarding side by side. On top we have made a shelf in oak with a bull nosed edge. The fittings are all modern but it also references traditional detailing enough to suit our edwardian house. Love those fe tiles tho!

Tiles. My favourite! See Jacqueline talbot and lumba chowdrary for something a bit unusual

kitsmummy I saw the dragonfly tiles in real life today, I'm smitten! May I ask what other tiles you used on the walls and floor? And how many dragonfly tiles did you use? I also liked the terracotta Marrakech range too, completely different though!

Great, they're lovely aren't they?! I can't remember the name of the other tiles but they were FE cream, kind of hand-made so not smooth ones. I think we just held the tiles against others in the shop to see which was the best match. The floor was travertine but this was about 5 years ago so there are probably more cutting edge options out there now!

I can't remember how many dragonfly tiles we had behind the basin, probably four or five I'd guess? Good luck with it, I'm sure it will be lovely.
