I normally use Zoopla. I'm wondering if there's a better one... Thanks.

I like rightmove

Different agents are signed up to different sites. The big agents will be signed up to all of them, but to capture all the smaller agents, you really need to check all of them... in my area I find checking rightmove, globrix and zoopla generally covers pretty much everything.

ChocFudgeCake · 13/07/2012 13:06

Thanks :) I'll check those up.

Rightmove, definitely, though Zoopla is good for seeing what a house last sold for. It's a good idea to download PropertyBee, which tells you how long property has been advertised on, eg, Rightmove, and whether there have been any price changes.

Primelocation.

minipie · 13/07/2012 14:45

Oh yes, forgot primelocation, think they tend to be good for places in t'country.

Great, thanks! I'll have something to do when the DCs go to bed (instead of tidying!)

I like Rightmove as there's tick box on the map, which shows you the nearest schools.

Not all the property is on all the sites though, as far as I can tell, so best to look at a few anyway, or at least have the alerts set up.

I also highly recommend propertybee, brilliant!

kensingtonkat · 18/07/2012 10:29

A third vote for Propertybee. It serves a handy second purpose, which is that it allows you to spot estate agents who routinely lie.

"We've had a lot of interest in this property."

"Well, clearly you haven't, because it's been on the market since April."

tawse57 · 18/07/2012 10:52

Use rightmove but view it using the firefox web browser and download the property bee plugin for it - this will show you all the legacy changes in asking prices.

Housepricecrash.co.uk is the place to find more info on this.
