Recommendations for kitchen flooring?

Hi, I really hate the ceramic tiles I have in my kitchen as they're textured so never get really clean unless I get down on hands and knees with a scrubbing brush and I am too lazy don't have time. Boring beigy brown with a sort of mottled effect which adds to the grubby look.

So, thinking about either marble/granite, purely because they are totally smooth, or maybe ceramic because I think they'd be easier to cut (would be getting a tiler in to do it).

Kitchen is handpainted F&B cream (can't remember the name), walls in F&B Pale Hound (slightly greeny off white), red and gold range cooker, red accessories. Currently have cobalt blue tiled splashbacks but think I'll change those as well. Worktops are granite, called Kashmir Gold (sort of warm beige with odd bit of red). It's a big kitchen, the overall effect is cream with bits of red.

Bearing in mind I cannot be arsed to do any more than hoover the floor and steam mop it a couple of times a week, I don't want something high maintenance.

Any suggestions please? Black, Grey, Cream - which would be best?

Thanks

cream, large surface so it will reflect light, and will match the worktops.

Thanks quote. Looking at limestone, does anyone have polished limestone kitchen floor and is it easy to clean?

just been in a holiday villa with a polished marble kitchen floor, an absolute nightmare to keep clean but I'm not sure why. I think the shininess made every crumb stand out.

We have karndean and love it, it's warmer underfoot and more child friendly than other options. Sweeps and mops so easy.

We have a grey limestone floor (not polished, just sealed) and it is a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE to clean. I would never ever choose it again!! It soaks up every stain (and there are plenty with a food-throwing toddler) and never looks clean however much effort you put into it - so I have effectively given up trying. It looked lovely for a while but I so wish I had gone for something less porous.

Just to recap, in case anyone misunderstood my central message here - I would never buy limestone for a kitchen floor ever ever again ok?!

OK thanks Temp Grin.

So looking like ceramic tiles or Karndean

Thanks everyone

I have been looking at Karndean and Amtico and think Amtico looks much much nicer, esp the Spacia range, which is more expensive!
Karndean is made in China too, which put me off.
There is a lovely Limetone Amtico tile which looks great (and I'm not usually a fan of wood or stone effect flooring).

Another option is proper lino, Marmoleum. Natural product made from cork/linseed and is tough and easy to keep clean.
