Which wallpaper? Utility room cupboard

Hello,

We are having some work done on our house, which will mean one of the doors into the utility room will be blocked up (there are 2, why??).
The door that is being block up is on an old bit of the house so the wall is very thick. we were just going to have it blocked, but now i'm thinking about blocking it up but keeping some of the depth, and putting shelves in the alcove.

I was then thinking it would be fun to paper the back of the new cupboard.

Which of these do you like? Is this a good idea or shall I just paint it? Or block it up so there is no cupboard at all?

It's a great idea, not least because I've done it Grin with some kitchen display cupboards (although mine is silver, with oriental scenes on it).

Of those three, my personal preference is the laundrette one because I think you need a more definite pattern to stand out behind the stuff on the shelves.

I like the pegged clothes one its lovely!

Ooh they are very nice. I like them all but I think my favourite is the laundrette, and second would be the pegged clothes in the purple-ier tones.

I hadn't considered wallpaper in the utility room but I'm inspired now! Of course I would have to find said utility room under the 30 piles of clothes Smile

We had a door blocked up and left one side (to the hall) open from about waist height downwards as a book shelf - measure for 4 rows of paperbacks. This side has architrave etc on it. The other side of the wall is just a plastered alcove with shelves within it (in my son's room) - so this could be in your utility? I like having it split as it's less obvious as an old doorway.

You could also fit some MDF front doors to it.

In our utility room we have a really narrow depth cupboard and it works brilliantly for all the cleaning bottles and sprays as nothing ever gets lost behind anything.

I think the fourth one but all look fab!! I miss wallpapering!

I like the third one

Last one

What a lovely idea! The last one is my favourite. Are you going to get those cute enameal tins saying "washing powder" too? They look fab!

I dream of a day if having a little utility room.. :)

Either the 3rd one, or the last one.

Lovely idea that I may have to pinch off you :)
