Ikea kitchens and integrated appliances

Has anyone here bought an Ikea kitchen but sourced the integrated appliances from elsewhere? I'm asking because I know some of Ikea's things, eg. beds are not UK standard sizes.

There's not much choice in appliances with Ikea, so I was hoping I could get them from somewhere else.

I would definitely buy your appliances from elsewhere used to work for IKEA ,their appliances are awful take it from me!

They are standard sizes, but the they are mainly whirlpool, aftersales support is awful, they are not great quality and they're not cheap either.

Which kitchen are you looking to get? Carcusses are great, some door fronts are lovely and great quality, some not so much, interiors are good. Stay away from IKEA worktops too, they're also terrible, as are the sinks/taps.

agree with all of the above. the appliances are cheap but not when they pack up and you have to replace them. pay the extra for john Lewis or m&s who will replace quickly if you have have trouble. K
IDS were good for workshops. We stupidly went for a local supplier who was cheaper and didn't sort problems when our wooden top showed defects. it is not worth going cheap on workshops....... learn from our sorry lessons!

I got IKEA kitchen, with my own appliances and worktops. There was a lot of worry over whether other worktop would fit as normal units are 58cm deep, IKEA are 60 cm, and worktops are 62cm IIRC, and mine looks fab!
Have to disagree about the tap, as I LOVE mine with the squirty hose attachment, and it even managed to get the kids to wash up for the whole first week after it was installed! :o

Not happy with the double sink I got, as the drainer doesn't drain - but there is a 25 year guarantee on everything, and I don't think you can get that anywhere else!

I've had my ikea kitchen fitted for about 5 years now, bought all built in appliances but not their worktop or sink.
All the seals on the oven have broken and the fridge freezer has never been anything like my previous Bosh one, can't complain about the dishwasher, hob, cooker hood or tap as they have been great especially as they didn't cost too much, also been really pleased with the cupboards and doors, all in all it has been a great buy but I am now wondering how complex it will be to replace the fridge freezer as they do not make the doors I have in that part of the kitchen anymore.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

itdoesnthurt I'm not quite sure. I've been searching on here for kitchen advice, and Ikea seems to have good reviews. I've looked online, but not seen any in real life yet.

I just don't know where to start! I can't even decide on a budget.Confused

Sorry to hijack, but which doors do you rate itdoesnthurt?

I'm thinking of getting abstract - are they okay?
