Where is your office space?

A question for all those without a seperate office or study where is your computer and all your paperwork kept?! Im trying to plan the layout of our new house and I cant decide where this should go...My DS is approaching senior school and it wont be long before he needs the computer for school work so right bang in the centre of the family/living room might not be such a good idea...but then I want it available to everyone ( perhaps his own laptop for DS might be a better option?) The girls are still too young and hubby and I have the trusted IPhones but when it comes down to it I still prefer to sit on a good old fashioned computer! Our kitchen is one huge Lshaped room with the living room. We have also got a tiny TV room..Any great storage ideas appreciated! x

Ikea did a foldaway laptop shelf, it was very compact. Could you do something with space under stairs you could use? Or maybe landing? Have a look at the Houzz app or the .com site...I get all my house ideas from there...good luck!

We're in the process of converting a storage cupboard in an alcove. When finished it will have one desk stretching across the width with shelves over. lighting under the bottom shelf, plug sockets over the desk instead of under.

Moveable draws on casters - cheaper and more flexible than built in. Top shelf for archive paperwork, lots of files for utilities, schoolwork etc... Room for the chair/s when doors are closed.

Born out of desperation to try and keep some kind of order with our paperwork. Oh, and I want my dining table back.

Keep the 'family' (ie kids') computer where you can see it, and them.

Means you can always keep an eye on what they're looking at during their downtime, and make sure they're doing homework, not watching youtube or worse.
