Internal sliding doors?

We are in the process of rethinking our downstairs layout. Our house is currently a 50's 3 bed terrace, ex-LA, decent size rooms. We have a separate sitting room at the front, then you go down a hall into the kitchen diner. With 2 little ones, I am finding it really hard to get on with cooking while they play/supervising the newly mobile 11 month old. We viewed a house years ago where they had solved the issue by putting slinding doors between the diner and sitting room and I'm thinking this may be the solution as we don't want to go completely open-plan.

However, I'm struggling to find the right doors. Our builder has suggested this but I'm not sure about so much glass with sticky fingers/safety, and think maybe obscured glass would be better for when the doors are closed and you want the rooms to feel separate again (or if friends stay over on the sofabed!). DH likes these & these but again the glass is clear.

Any experience or tips?

I am considering sliding doors for a very similar situation! had a look at this kind of thing.

If you like the doors you linked to you could get film applied to the glass to give a sandblasted effect.
Or you coudl buy unglazed doors and have a glazier fit them with sandblasted glass.

We've done it, and really pleased we have - much better to keep an eye on the DCs.

Really struggling to find handles for the doors though - we want similar to kitchen cupboard "pull" handles - but for doors you need to be able to attach from both sides iyswim? Does anyone have the answer?!

We 2 had glazed oak doors hung to slide between our lounge and dining room in our previous house (large Edwardian mid terrace) and had these knobs put on either side of the doors to slide them

They were expensive as faceted crystal but were really very pretty and complemented the oak doors/floors I had and matched the faceted glass light fittings so pulled the look of the two rooms together. You may not like the crystal but Carlisle brass make many different styles so worth a look!
