How do I clean scuff marks on F&B painted walls?

I am noticing every mark on my newly painted walls. Damp cloth does not seem to work. Any suggestions?

If the paint is a 'silk' finish, try baby wipes. If they are matt, you'll have to paint over the marks.

You need on of these.

Another vote for the magic eraser - but Poundland, not Lakeland!

Thanks for telling me about the eraser! Off to Poundland tomorrow - is called the magic eraser there?

The magic eraser works for small scuffs. Eventually you get to the point (I am there) where the sheer quantity of grubby toddler fingerprints overwhelms it and you need to start thinking about repainting [stares gloomily round at her mottled walls]

Hopefully I am at least a year away from having to repaint as I only decorated two weeks ago. Wish I had forked out for the wipeable paint.

I use a pencil eraser. Make sure it's clean (do some rubbing out on another surface first) and the rubber will rub out marks pretty well.

The only thing is, it does take away some of the "powdery" finish of the paint, so the area you have rubbed out will be a bit smoother and catch the light slightly differently from the rest of the wall. Hardly noticeable mind you.

Thanks minipie. Your posts are always helpful.
