What lights do you have in your bathroom?

I'm planning our new bathroom and all the lights that I like aren't suitable for bathrooms, apart from a franklite chandelier that I love but it's £££

I've been looking on houzz.com and there's some lovely looking lights in the bathrooms but they appear to be in American bathrooms, so different regulations...

I've had a google and something came up on an electricians forum about adding an isolation transformer to a normal light.

Dh is looking at me like Hmm because he'll be doing all the work.

Do you mean ceiling or wall lights?
I bought Astro light fittings from here

Ceiling lights, i'm just looking on lighting direct.
They seem to have more than just the plain sealed units that everywhere else seem to have.

how high is the ceiling?

is the place where you want to put the lamp directly above the bath or shower?

Recessed light fitting in the ceiling. Lovely

Sorry light fittings

I've bought 2 set of these for our new bathrooms.

Maybe not pretty but very practical. I'm there to wash & piss not adorn the light fittings!

I have recessed lights in the ceiling and on the advice of our electrician, had the LED ones fitted. Trouble is the light is very hard white, rather than softer like a traditional halogen recessed light. Not sure if I can change that but I really don't like them - even if they are more environmentally sound. The light sure isn't flattering, so not great first thing in the morning...!

macaroni have a look around for different LED bulbs - they have made them much better recently and you can get softer toned ones now.

We have recessed halogens

It makes a difference to what you can have.

Thanks for the advice.

I've found another bathroom light I quite like online and a local lighting shop who can get either in for me.
And they'll match online prices. :)
