Kitchen kick plate drawers?

I'm putting in a rather small kitchen, so thinking about extra storage and Kick Plate drawers.
Perfect for things like tea towels and stuff you don't general use that often.

There's not much on the Internet, but they seem simple in theory (as everything does)

I would most likely follow this method 10kkitchenremodel.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Kick-plate%20Drawers and build a frame which the units sit on, as the feet seem rather close together to have affective drawers.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Thanks

good idea. The website you have linked to looks American, but I have seen them, ready-made, over here.

The gap is usually about 100mm or 150mm high. Sometimes you can find roll-in "underbed" plastic crates that fit. You need a tight-fitting lid to keep dust, insects and rodents out. If you are old, portly or pregnant you may find them difficult to access.

Only objection I can see is that people will fill them with useless junk that is never seen again...

IKEA do them - not sure whether you've already considered there?

We have ikea ones and they are great for baking tins/trays etc and things not used every day. I wouldnt use for food or linen as they are too dusty tho - maybe tins ok..... Excellent use of space.
