Activities in Chiswick for toddler (and mummy!)

Hello,

My husband, nearly 2 year old son and I will be moving to Chiswick for 3 months over the summer (June to August inclusive) as my husband has been seconded there for work. We don't know Chiswick at all, and in fact we don't really know any of London, so I would be really grateful for any suggestions of suitable activities to keep my son and I amused! At the moment we are living in the States and we do things like baby/toddler music classes, swimming lessons, playgroups, playing in the local parks, soft play centres, occasional visits to petting zoos etc...

We will be living just south of Chiswick High Road.

Oh, and if anybody knows of a nice cleaning lady who might be interested in doing a couple of hours a week for us while we're there then that would be a bonus!

PS Thanks to everyone who replied to my previous thread about where we should live when we moved to London - your responses were really helpful.

Chiswick House has just opened a lovely new kids play area - next to the lovely new cafe. Also look at Ravenscourt Park - great kids play areas and outdoor lido. For a rainy day, head over to Snakes & Ladders at Syon Park, Brentford.
DEFINITELY get that Kew Gardens pass. And when you're in Kew, pop into the Shoe Station kids shoe shop next to the tube station - best kids shoe shop inside the M25 in my opinion. If you can afford to join the Park Club it is just fantastic for kids and meeting other Mums. As you're south of the HR, you may wish to look at the Riverside Club.

We have a wide range of activities for under 5s taking place at Dukes Meadows children's Centre over the summer. This is just round the corner from Dukes Meadows paddling pool which is mentioned above.

Amongst the sessions on offer, we have play sessions, cooking, buggy walks around Chiswick House, arts and crafts and a visit to the local fire station. All of the activities are available for a voluntary donation of just £1 per family

We are just finalising our timetable for June. If you would like us to send it to you a copy once it is ready, please e mail me at:
