Ballpark figure for new boiler?

3 bed mid terrace.

Rural Somerset.

Currently has old but fully functioning boiler with back boiler in dining room and storage tank in the loft. Rads in every room bar kitchen (3 beds, 2 receps, 2 in hall, 1 on landing, 1 in bathroom).

We are going to be having a lot of work done so think a new boiler might be a good idea to kick things off. Also we will be having the loft converted in the next 2 yrs so would be good to get rid of water tank and will need more capacity.

Any ideas of a ballpark figure?

Gosh - my sister had a new one put in recently and including labour it cost about £1800. Can you still scrap the old ones? We did this when we got ours put in.

£1800 for a new boiler or new radiator?

I was thinking more like £3000?!?

Would the radiators need replacing as well then or they can run off the new boiler? The upstairs radiators are quite new (2000?).

I really have no idea about these things....

We had a brand new boiler last year (Worcester combi boiler) with some kind of new fangled system cleaning pump and it was £1800. We were provided with certification etc.

I think some plumbers will charge closer to £3k, you just have to shop around a little.

£1800 sounds about right for the boiler. The rads will work fine from it. Whether any pipework needs replacing or any of the older radiators is your call.

If you're willing to spend £3k it might be worth updating the older parts of the system anyway, especially if this is part of a grand overhaul. Don't feel pressured into it though. Get a couple of good plumbers in for some advice.

Ours was more like 2.5k but included a radiator and the boiler was in a new place so needed pipe work redoing and water tank removing. Very very trusted plumber so no worries on his pricing...

£3K this was taking out the old back boiler from behind a defunct fireplace, the tank in the loft, replacing some pipes, a magna clean and then a new boiler fitted.

We shopped around a lot, got 4 quotes and they were all around the £3k mark just a couple of hundred quid in it.

We live in south somerset.

We're paying £7 for boiler (that itself cost 1000 it's a Worcester 30 green star) 7 new radiators , completely new pipe work everywhere, and water pipe underfloor heating in new extension. I suspect the latter is a out £3k so about £4k for the rest- which is completely new central heating system.
In south east

CAll the energy saving trust here. I was told recently that there were £400 grants available for boiler replacement if yours was deemed to be inefficient - worth a call
