Hi
we have just had our offer accepted on a flat and well it's a project lets just say.

The whole hall, kitchen and 3 walls and ceiling in the living room have been wood panelled! We plan to remove it, as far as we can tell from the rest of the flat, this was not done to cover anything up but because the guy was a joiner and he really like the style in the 70's. nothing has been done up in the house since the 70's so fingers crossed the walls are ok underneath..
so we'd like to try and remove it without pulling walls and ceiling down.. any tips? the celing panels seem to be on a frame as the ceilings are lower in the rooms with panneling than they are else where.

thanks in advance!

No tips I'm afraid but we had the same in our house. We couldn't remove through frame without pulling all the plaster off.

Ended up taking the wall back to bare brick and replastering.

On the up side we gained a few inches in the room.

Yes I am guessing we will probably have to do that, the living room wall will need that anyway as it also has a tasteful stone fire place all the way along with holes in it for a tv and video recorder Hmm.. just a bit worried about the ceilings coming down!
