Finally found a company that do f&b painter shaker style kitchen at a reasonable price but now at a loss which colour to chose for the units and for a wall opposite. Kitchen is large but dark with large old terracotta tiles on floor and will be having probably Oak work tops want. I want to keep it light but love the comtempary look of Frech grey and want tp do wall opposite a darker colour and will have a large mirror on it

I also have a really dark kitchen.I painted the units in Skimming Stone.island in elephants breath and walls in Strong white [a very pale grey].These all reflect the light beautifully. If you want a wall in French Grey why not pick various pale colours that will tone with it and use these on the majority of the surfaces. We also originally had victorian quarry tiles but ended up replacing them with travertineThis has made a world of difference in brightening up the kitchen.Alternatively a rug can be used to lighten the floor if you are a careful family with no pets or dc's[not like me].

I would second strong white as we have this in our kitchen too. We painted the units in cornforth white which goes really well with strong white and a black granite work surface. We went for a solid oak floor with a matt finish which I am really pleased with :)
