Where to put Combi Boiler?

Gutting my 1st/2nd house so lots of questions to come:
Where Should I out my boiler?

  1. In kitchen, though it is small and will take valuable space
  2. In bathroom, less valuable, but can they be noisy for light sleepers in bedrooms next door?

Cheers

Deeply depressed about my apparent lack of options for where to put my boiler. Having a lovely new open plan kitchen and dining room, have limped on with faulty hob, fridge falling apart etc for years now can't wait to have my lovely new kitchen put in. But my "man" for doing the work says the boiler needs to be on an outside wall and that regulations prevent it being put in the bathroom. I really don't want my massive combi boiler with pipes sticking out of it in my new dream kitchen. Any ideas please.

Best combi boilerr to buy, any thoughts please

"Which" thinks that the three brands with the best reliability and satisfaction are Vaillant, Worcester Bosch, and Viessmann.

Installers cannot agree and have violent arguments. Some brands, especially cheap ones sold in DIY sheds, have a particularly poor reputation.

Most important factor is probably the quality of the installation, so ask around for a well-recommended local installer who has been in business for ten years or more, and whose customers are pleased with his maintenance and repair service. See if they are on the manufacturers' "Approved Installers" web page, which may affect the length of guarantee.

If you want a good laugh get a price off BG.

Why did you decide on a Combi?

Combi just seems most popular. would welcome thoughts/experience though. thanks

if you have more than one bathroom/shower, and more than one person wanting to run taps at the same time, a cylinder may suit you better.

In the loft is going to be interesting when it needs maintenance done to it...

Ours is in the kitchen which is good because we can all easily tell whether it's working properly, and the maintenance guy can get to it easily.

I know I need a qualified electrician to 're wire my house, but would it be. acceptable to do the installation of the wiring and have the electrician do the connection. thoughts please.

If it is notifiable work, somebody has to sign "I designed, installed and tested it" and state their qualifications (can be three different people). Which of those statements will the electrian be able to sign?
