So it will be painted / floored but no wardrobes and no curtain rails etc. PIL have offered to pay for fitted wardrobes but these things take time. Any tips for temporary window covers / wardrobe solutions? I'm considering packing each of us a bag of circa 1 weeks clothes and not unpacking anything else! I don't want to rush into curtains etc but I want the kids to sleep past 5am!

You can get hanging rails and I'd use bag fir life for folded clothes until your wardrobes are ready!

Can you hire a handy man to put a curtain rail in both dc rooms? Then get curtains for those rooms only

I keep thinking we need to get over our fear of DIY at some point (going from new build flat where we never even hung pictures). How hard can it be to put up some curtain rails? Our friends got dp a drill for his birthday a couple of years ago as they were sick of us borrowing theirs. Also scared to ruin lovely new plaster/ paint too though

Why don't you buy some cheap blackout blinds from Argos for the bedrooms.easy to put up and can still be used in conjunction with curtains when you decided which ones you would like.

Need to look into blackout blinds from argos. My cousin has them and they are lovely but dp scared about fitting them. There's a theme here......... Today he says he wants to put curtain poles up and cheap curtains.
