please come up with good bodges. we are meant to be selling the house.

or is this an unbodgeable problem and i should just throw money/time at replacing it? tear is a v-shape.

lino was £400 originally (reasonable quality stuff for a 20' room) and was in a slightly scuffed condition. now it has a more visible tear. it is white which makes any flaw show dirt something rotten... i wish to be selling in the 'good decorative order' though probably not in the 'high standard of finish' bracket so obvious flaws are a no-no.

DH sulking. I am annoyed at myself for buying white lino in the first place.

I'm sure you mean vinyl

It is possible to repair it with silicone sealant, which will glue it together and fill it smooth. Clear will show less as you are unlikely to get a perfect colour match.

I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that vinyl is easily scuffed, scratched, bubbled or torn so it is never going to look like new for long.

it did take him dragging the washing machine over it (with a broken foot, on the machine..) though next time i'd get rhino vinyl flooring in a wood-pretend pattern rather than white..and i'd lay it after installing the kitchen...as that is when most of the damage happened ..

as floor is half-concrete half-floorboard difficult to find good flooring solutions.

but thank you for good bodging suggestions, wil see what works....DH sulking less today as we got a good valuation (though...a house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ...)

if you lay the flooring after fitting the kitchen, you get lots of gaps where spilt milk and ants can go, and it rucks up much more when you try to move appliances Sad

Appliance trolleys are handy (like a tray with castors)
