Just had new kitchen .... Phoned one of the suppliers to register fridge ... They were saying would only cover faults not call out fees and tried to sell extended warranty. Declined as I said all should be coveredby sales of goods act etc! So, any point contacting them at all to register other appliances?

thats odd
my dh registered all our Bosch stuff, 12mnths on the barrings went in the washer and they came out free of charge and fixed it.
sometimes they will charge you call out charges if they turn up and the appliance is not broke in terms of a faulty product, say you break the door on the washing machine or something, they will charge.
but if the appliance break under the guarentee it will be covered.
I would register them, then atleast your covered if you anything ever happened and you need to take things further

Depends on the manufacturer IME. But you're right that if it's under warranty and develops a fault, they should fix it without cost to you. I've registered some of mine so that if something does go wrong I'm (theoretically) on their system. I did it online.

I get invitations to take out the extended warranty, which I immediately bin.

Keep your receipts so that you can prove date of purchase.

registering it means they can contact you (if they feel like it) if there is a recall due to motors catching fire or something.

Thanks all! Will register other appliances in case of recall. Def think it's a policy to try to get you to take out extended warranties tho!
