Toilets in family houses - weigh in on our argument!

DH and I are currently arguing about what we need in the way of toilets in our house.

We have a large 4 bedroom detached house, and we're currently re-doing the bathrooms.

Downstairs, we have one toilet. Upstairs, we have a separate toilet, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and sink and no toilet, and a family bathroom. At present, the family bathroom has a toilet, a bath and a sink.

Would you rather have
a) family bathroom without a toilet, but with a separate shower, and use the upstairs toilet along the hall
b) family bathroom with a toilet directly in the bathroom, but with a shower over the bath
c) family bathroom with a bath, a sink, and plenty of floor space

Also, is it or is it not normal for small children to put unsuitable things down the loo?

Am I still allowed to sulk, flounce, claim IANBU, and demand that I am right to hate all toilets in bathrooms? Or do I have to give way to the majority vote? At least many people agree with me that small children put strange things down the loo.

This is what I think I need.

I could do with one of those on the front door never mind the loo Grin

Why do you hate loos in the bathroom?
Much easier if you need a quick wee before a shower or if you use a mooncup. Or have to wash a child who has had a nasty squitty poo accident (voice of bitter experience)...

B - for kids use - mine alway sneed when are in bath. then keep nice, clean shiny en-suite somewhere for your personal use Grin

with 4 of you, you need 2 loos upstairs if you possibly can.

so either B or squeeze in an extra loo somewhere else.

Personally I prefer to sit on the loo in a nice spacious room (ie bathroom) rather than a tiny cupboard like room (ie separate loo).

why do you hate loos in bathrooms? Are you one of those weirdy people who denies that bodily functions exist? Grin
