Wooden worktops and best kitchen sink?

We'd like to have wooden worktops in our new kitchen, partly as they are much less ££ than granite or quartz but also that they look warmer and more in keeping with the planned kitchen style (ie quite classic).
I'm happy to look after them but hate the black mouldy mess you get behind an inset sink.

What sink would be best to combine with solid wood? We are keen cooks and often have lots of washing up, even with a dishwasher (global knives and non stick pans etc).

I like the sit on sinks like this
www.simplykitchensinks.co.uk/index.asp?SKSID=840&ItemID=2472
but can only find this range in a max 1.5 bowl.

I also like this
www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S59897218/ but we'll need some kind of drainer I think.

Any ideas?
TIA

I would NOT recommend Topworktops !
I'm in the process of having their beech worktops fitted in my kitchen and I hate it.
It looks nothing like the sample they sent me. So many different light and dark variations between the wood - it looks cheap and nasty.
And it wasn't until I oiled it that the variation showed up so I can't return it now.
I wish i'd paid extra and got a better quality finish.
My carpenter is half way through fitting it at the moment and i feel sick thinking I've paid so much for something I can't even bare to look at :(
I will be changing it as soon as I can afford to.

Hi BEV

All butcher block worktops regardless of wood... beech, oak, walnut will have colour variations, and once oiled it will enhance that as it brings out the natural beauty of the wood.

Have a look at google images at beech butcher block, below

Sorry to hear you dont like your top, nothing worse than waiting for such a big job to be done and then not liking it

On no Bevs, sorry to hear that. It may improve with time?

Thanks for the moral support :) The variation is huge - not what I was expecting having seen the sample.

After crying over this for days (I know it's sad but I've been waiting so long for this!) I have sent photos to Topworktops and to be fair to them they have offered to replace the worktops with ones from a different supplier.

I feel a lot better now - although I feel terrible messing my carpenter around, and will have to pay him again for the new ones to be cut.
But much happier :)

Oh that's quite a good result then, fingers crossed.
