Have you replaced any radiators with a modern design? How have you found it?

here is a link to B@Q radiators, are they any good?

I replaced some radiators with Hudevad flat panel radiators. They work just as well if not better than the old ones, and are much less bulky and better looking (IMO).

Don't know anything about the B&Q ones though.

Do you have them vertical or horizontal?

I had both - I had a horizontal one (normal radiator size and shape) in the living room, and a tall vertical one in the kitchen.

The one in the kitchen was great - first because it took up less wall space, so we could fit our kitchen table against the wall properly, and second because I could stand against it when it was really cold outside and I needed to warm my whole body Grin

We installed new rads through the whole house to replace the old warm air system. I used these which were great as you can have any width and height. This means they'll fit in really awkward spaces which wouldn't normally fit a rad, and you keep main walls clear for furniture. Love 'em!

We had 2 upright ones in the previous house and they were great, having bought an upright for new house we have decided on underfloor heating run off an air heat source pump and a ventilation heat recovery system, both will save a fortune in bills and as we are no spring chickens should see minimal bills in years to come along with a wood burner.
