roughly how much would it cost to redo the cloakroom?

Hello, we would like to redo our downstairs cloakroom (it's avocado, and we've hated it since we moved in), but have no idea as to the costs to get someone to do it. Excluding the cost of the new suite/taps, any ideas how much someone would charge to remove (and get rid of) the old loo and basin, remove a small area of tiles (about 14 tiles, 15 cm square each) and replace with new tiles, and remove old carpet and lay new vinyl. The room is really small (about 1.3 x 0.8 m, you can literally fit loo and small basin in and that's it). Once we get a ballpark figure we'll approach local tradesmen to get a proper quote, it's just we have no idea roughly how much it might be, so need to know whether we can afford it now, or would have to save up for longer (in which case, someone's quote might have expired). We don't want to do the tiling/decorating ourselves as we have a new baby and just have no time (and little ability!)

Any help gratefully received!

I'm in the middle of trying to do something similar, and the one quote I've had so far was about £950 for replacing loo/basin/flooring/some tiles - I think that included some plumbing supplies but not the actual new loo, basin & taps. Oh, I think it might also have included fitting a new extractor fan.

I would have expected less than exexpat suggest actually, it sounds like a tiny job. I'm presuming the small area of tiles is wall tiles above the basin, rather than floor tiles, and I'm also assuming that toilet/basin are staying in the same place as they're currently in?

I'm hoping to get a lower quote too Smile. This was from a fairly big local building firm - I'm going to try some smaller ones, as I expect they will be cheaper.
