concrete nightmare garden

I have just bought a houose which could have a lovely garden except it has two concrete areas and an unused and ugly 'fountain' thing in the middle.
Who should I pay to remove it, would an ordinary gardener be ok, or do I need a builder?
Also where can I get cheap but nice radiators, particularly vertical narrow ones?

I wouldn't think you need a builder, just a strong fit gardener to wield a sledge hammer. If your local I'll lend you my DP he likes to break things up with sledge hammers Hmm. Not sure what you need to do with the fountain but again I think a gardener would have a good idea!

I would try and get a gardener or handyman to sort out the concrete and take it away, rather than a builder, as it will cost you less.

Re the rads, have a look at B&Q, Wickes and Screwfix.

Great, so the gardener might be able to do it. I just don't want to waste time getting quotes from the wrong people, it takes ages in my area.
I suppose the soil underneath will be in pretty poor shape too, so need to get it sorted soonish if I want a decent garden for summer.so the kids can wreck it
Have looked at those websites and seen a few that might be useful, was just hoping for somewhere I had never heard of. But they all look the same after a while. If only radiators could be a little more adventurous....

You can find lots of adventurous rads out there if you look on-line but they certainly wont be cheap...

Find nice rads online or somewhere like a bathroom showroom (which might have the tall vertical ones) take a note of the name and find your local plumber's merchant who will undoubtedly be able to source it much cheaper for you.

re ugly fountain thing water supply involved ? or just ornamental? if water was supplied at any time be careful if lots of concrete, it will have to be removed/tipped so one big van or lots of runs for whoever gets job
