gender-neutral and bright nursery decor?

Where?

We've been told we're probably having a girl, but there is that small chance that it could be a boy.

Much of the wallpaper I've seen is very gender divided - ballet shoes/pink versus diggers/blue.

So have you seen any cool nursery stuff? I've just started another thread about bright scandi-type baby clothes and would love a nursery in this vein. As I said on the clothing thread, I can look in the high street shops (though nothing has grabbed me yet) so I would love to see some cool websites for wallpaper/bedding/pictures/lighting or decals etc.

Anyone know?

I went with pale yellow walls; cream ceiling; yellow gingham curtains, and skirting and picture rail were done in a bluey green.

He still has the curtains up and he is 16!!

I happened upon this thread by accident, and I know this is really late in the day for this discussion - but I thought it was worth a mention if anyone still pops by this thread: I found some really lovely wallpaper for the nursery from Scandinavia I think it is, on a site called Bimbily. Here's a link: www.bimbily.com/room/wallpaper.html
There's both gender neutral and more colourful, looks lovely to me. X

Yes, it's really hard to find gender neutral, fun decor that has a bit of character to it. I went on pintrest a lot and used a few up cycling furniture ideas (took a pine cot and painted it teal, then did a chest of drawers in graduated teal tones to match), plus found this artist who does some really fun, characterful prints of animals on Etsy

The pictures are all big and bright so really make an impact in her room.

Winnie the Pooh is gender neutral.

I got wall decals and a stick on border from baby shops and eBay fairly cheaply.

Curtains also from eBay, and a relative sewed a quilt for the cot.

We painted our baby box room a bright yellow, had a white cot with primary colours on the corners, and a white chest of drawers and wardrobe with primary colour handles.

Then found a fabric wall Teddy holding 3 brightly coloured balloons that filed up most of one wall-the balloons were on colourful ribbons. So really simple but very bright and cheerful.

We didn't know if we were having a girl or a boy with our first. The nursery was the box room (6 by 8) and had butter yellow walls with pale green curtains. It looked lovely. I was given a framed print from one of the brambly hedge books and that went up on the wall and was the only other decoration. The room was so small that anything more complicated would have been overwhelming.

Then we moved and now the girls share a garden bedroom. The carpet is green and the walls and the ceiling are sky blue. I've painted clouds on the ceiling and insects all on the walls (with grass painted on at the bottom). We have butterflies, dragonflies, ladybirds, a very hungry caterpillar, a very busy spider and a snail. The girls love it and there is nothing hugely gendered in the colour scheme or the choice of creatures. I painted all the murals by hand with sample pots of paint from B&Q.

We have two boys but have just decorated the room in a lovely jungle/zoo animal theme.
Pale yellow and green walls and got curtains/wall art/bedclothes and other bits from john lewis.

I did a woodland theme with pale green walls a chocolate coloured carpet and lots of animal characters (owls, frogs etc). I put Beatrix Potter framed prints on the wall. Added dark wood furniture and cream accessories and it looked lush. Best room in the house! Quite relaxing too.

We knew we were having a girl, but I wanted a bright, gender-neutral space, so we went with white furniture, walls in F&B Cabbage White, and brightly coloured accessories and prints. It's a lovely, cheerful room. And because we avoided a theme, it's quite easy to chop and change things.

Bit of a ghost thread though Smile

For my little boy's room I painted the walls pale grey and went with white furniture, then added prints found on Etsy/Not on the High Street. Then I've just added bits as I've gone along. A great website for nursery interors that I use a lot is thismodernlife.co.uk/.
I bought a really simple grey and white cloud/star printed cotbed set from Mothercare (Myleene Klass range).
Other things I have pinned for this pregnancy are
www.uwdecals.com/ - great for decals. Also if you have instagram follow urbanwalls and there are lots of inspiration pics on there. I also follow projectnursery for ideas.
