Idea of cost for paying someone to wallpaper my bedroom?

Just found a lovely wallpaper here if anyone's feeling nosy and would prefer to have someone in to decorate rather than attempt this one myself (not paying anywhere near the advertised price for the wallpaper by the way, in case anyone thinks this is a stealth boast Grin). The room is a decent size (somewhere around 12 x 14ft) with normal ish height ceilings (prob higher than new build but not lofty edwardian heights). There would be no prep or painting involved, simply someone to paper the walls.

Does anyone have idea of how much I should be looking at paying for this? Desperately hoping it's only 1 or 2 days work or DH will make me do it myself Angry and I fear this big pattern has lots of potential for me to bodge it.

should have said we are based in Somerset, so hopefully won't be London prices.

Get 2 or 3 quotes preferably from referrals. It will vary depending how busy/good the painter/decorator is and your timeline. I either pay a day rate or a fixed price depending on the amount of work. I'm having 3 rooms decorated/painted from ceilings/coving/skirting boards and doors. The smallest room is approximately the same size as yours. Some prep since the ceilings have been freshly plastered and one room needs lining paper on the walls. 5 days' work for £500 plus the cost of materials.(I also got a 10% discount since I asked for it and I booked him in Jan). He lined the room in half a day so unless your walls need prepping or the room is oddly shaped, it's only a day's work at most. I would say £150 would be reasonable (excluding cost of materials i.e wallpaper and paste).

You really ought to paint the ceiling and woodwork first. Don't want paint splashes on the new paper.

You need to check they're used to hanging wallpaper with a big pattern match like yours. Putting up lining paper or emulsioning is a much easier job, whereas a good paperhanger can make all the difference to the finished article. I'm near Bath and I pay £135/day for an experienced paperhanger.

Oh fantastic, I got some responses! Will definitely do the painting beforehand and it sounds like the papering shouldn't cost too much, thank god for that!

I can recommend someone for you if you are interested? He's in glastonbury. Let me know!

I have decorator working at my house as I write. He charges £150 per day and is experienced and very tidy & helpful. He reckons to take a couple of days to decorate a room, on average. I am in York.
It is nice if you can get a recommendation; we trust this chap & just leave him in the house to get on with it whilst we are at work etc. and come home to a nice room!

Thanks so much everyone. Goblin that recommendation would be great actually - we are only 10 minutes across the levels from Glastonbury
