Tiling?

I have large extension that runs the width of the back of the house.

It is the main exit to the garden and has catflap in the door.

It has laminated floor at the moment which is starting to bubble up and needs to be replaced.

Question is - with what?

I'm thinking about floor tiles,

I couldn't keep a carpet clean and laminate would life again if it got wet (which it will when kids leave outside door open and rain gets in).

The room is used as a 'den' for watching TV and houses computer.

Do you think floor tiles would 'work' i.e. look OK?

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to get someone to tile the floor which is 3m x 5m - obviously the cost of the tiles can vary considerably.

I'm wondering how much the labour might be.

Thank you

When we had our extension done 5 years ago, we were told £25 per sq metre by our kitchen fitter. So I did it myself, and saved hundreds. Not sure how much prices would have changed - you might be better off ringing round locally to get a better idea of price.

Thank you. I suppose that compares favourably with carpeting, underlay and fitting, as this would be something that, once done, would never need to be done again.

The tiles were on top of that though - £25 psm was just for laying them.
