Selling Victorian internal doors - Salvo Yard or eBay

I have no clue about this type of stuff. We have 7 internal victorian doors sat in our garden (under cover) following a recent renovation.

I'm sure they are desirable - should I sell on eBay or speak to a local salvo yard. If the latter, what should I expect in terms of cash?

Two of them are part glazed.

Are they part glazed with nice coloured glass? I need one for my front room and am struggling to find one with my measurement requirements. Grin

They are desirable, I think you'd get more money on ebay as you won't have a salvo yard taking a cut. Have a look at prices on ebay for an idea.

Oh oh where are you?

planestrainsautomobiles · 07/01/2012 11:33

We're in Reigate....couldn't see anything similar on eBay but only looked for a minute...will look again now.

The glass isn't coloured but it has a design running through it, making it translucent. They were used for the bathroom and toilet doors.

If you're interested in measurements / live nearby, let me know.

Yes, where are you?
Can you post a pic ?

take good photos and measurements and put on ebay.

make it clear where they have to be collected from

My husband wants to go down the eBay route but just wondered if it would be simpler just to get a salvo yard guy round. Will try to sort some photos out today.

I think they may actually be Edwardian, as the house was built in 1905.

Grrr too far away.
Another consideration might be gumtree?

ninedragons · 07/01/2012 11:50

Go to advanced search, and look for completed items. At least that will give you a guide price so you know if they generally go for around 70 pounds each and the salvo guy is offering you ten pounds for the lot, you're being ripped off.

If they have textured glass, remember to take the photos with the light behind them.

eBay risk of getting 99p?
I would expect to get about £30 for each of them from a dealer, they will prob sell for double that but that's the risk. Bird in the hand and all that. That's just a guess though.
