Questions to ask

I am buying a house and going in to measure up so I can buy a fridge etc. before completion and ask some basic practical questions like where the stopcocks / fuse boxes etc. are.

I'm trying to come up with a list of questions.

I've got so far:
finding location of fuse boxes, meters, stop-cocks.
how the burglar alarm works.
Instructions for central heating.

Is there anything else I should ask?

Thanks!

The neighbours. Ask about them. "Oh, she's a sweet old thing really" is what our predecessor here said about the evil insane old witch next door, and in hindsight it should have been obvious she was lying.

What days do the bins go out?
Are there any smoke alarms and where are they?
Access to loft?

Thank you. Luckily I've met the neighbours on both sides and they seem lovely. (Phew)

Check with your solicitor which questions they will ask automatically. When we sold our house we had a form to fill in with things like location of stopcock. It also included whether there were any problems with neighbours.

Hassled if your vendors completed a similar form then you may have grounds for legal action.
