using the space in a bay window with radiator: can you put seating there?

We have a long sitting/dining room. At one end is a bay window with a radiator. We have a sofa and armchair, but will need more seating as the dts grow. We would like to put some kind of seating in the bay window (currently empty since the playpen has gone), but are worried it would block heat from the room.

If we can't put seating there, how else would you use the space? Other peoples houses look cosy, ours just looks bare :(

I think as long as you allow some room for the heat then it should be fine. By this I mean just leave a gap around the back of the chair.

We converted a double garage into a playroom and both the huge 1.7m wide radiators under the windows have something in front of them, one has a massive sofa and the other has Ikea trofast storage in front of it.

You could also think about getting a foot stool that doubles as seating and maybe have beanbags that the twins can sit on when they are older.

we have an ikea karlstad chaise longue in our window. It doesn't look like it is sold anymore though there are some other ones. It is great for laying on or fitting a couple of extra people on without blocking the radiator.
