We stumbled across a 3 bed top floor flat in a 100yr old manor house by talking to EA about auctions.
he gave us the keys as it has recently been taken off the market and will either go to auction or the rental market.
It was on at £250,000 but didn't sell. Property company hoping to achieve £225,000 at auction.
We fell in love with it just going into the hall way!! We offered £200,000 there and then!
So now we are waiting for the rejection but in the meantime;-
We plan to move the kitchen into the bathroom which is bigger, lighter and has a view of the back garden.
Move the bathroom into the study which is off the hall.
Put an en-suite into bed 1
Make the old kitchen and lounge into one huge room
Open up the boarded up chimney and either have a wood burning stove or electric hole in the wall flame fire.
replace all carpets with wood flooring or tiles
Undecided whether to go contempory or restore the original features.
As the flat has electric storage heaters (no gas) we wonder about underfloor heating?
Can anyone advice how easy this would be to install etc
Not bothered about the cost to run as we would be renting out or reselling if the value rises after the work.
Any advice/ideas/experience would be very helpful.
