Induction hobs, yay or nay?

What's good about them, what's bad, etc. If you have one, would you get another one?

Yep. It's induction. But I suspect this AEG number is a cheapie. Just like the rest of the hideous brand new Howdens kitchen which came with the house. thankfully the Bosh double ovens work ok.

I see those of you who like induction have proper stuff like Die Dietrich etc.

And yes I do realise the pan has to be centre in the ring for the magnetic coils to work properly.

Spoke to my mum who has just had a Die Dietrich induction hob installed 6 days ago (she did not heed my warnings as she was sold on the lovely glossy look) and she loves it. No issues with wrecked pans etc.

So conclusion perhaps is that the expensive top of the range ones work really well?

That said I am still replacing with a gas hob.

It could well be skandi - I have a Die Dietrich one as well (I think anyway).
