F&B Pointing woodwork, what colour should we paint the walls?

Thats is really, inspiration needed!

Walls are currently white which is too harsh and cold, I want something warmer this time. The sitting room is quite large but I want to keep it feeling airy and bright so don't want anything too dark.

Tell me what you have used/liked with Pointing......

Many shades will go with pointing.

We have Shaded White, which goes really well with rich creamy curtains, off-white sofa and a solid large oak table. Pointing woodwork and Wimborne White ceiling.

Are you near to an F&B shop? They are really good at advising. Battersea in particular.

Thanks Marsha, I have shaded white on my shortlist and matchstick which is similar. Is it a warm colour would you say?
I am very near the Notting Hill F&B shop, I popped in on Staurday but couldn't get near a sales assistant and didn't have the time to wait - they are always so busy!

Hi takeonboard. I think it is a soft and lovely colour. One of my favourites. The F&B person raved about it. And I was reticent and first brush mark I thought argh light grey. But it's not. It's warm and light. And looks really nice with WW ceiling and pointing woodwork.

I didn't choose Matchstick, I was a bit worried about being too yellow/brownish. But only as we have Chappell Green in hall so needed to be more neutral. Actually getting out those painted board things in the shop and imagining how the rooms work together was helpful. We didn't bother with sample pots. Staring at a square of paint on a wall didn't help us much.

It looks like the fireplace shot.

I know, Saturdays are terribly busy. I had to go during the week to speak with the head guy. Still people were bringing in entire layouts and pictures of their houses, which would take ages. Free interior decoration.

Hi Marsha, Is that shaded white in the pic? its gorgeous.

I will try to get to F&B during the week, as you say with free interior decoration advice on offer it gets very busy and the people in there on saturday looked like they would be there all day!

ha I know. One woman had an huge sheet house plan with photos of all the rooms and bits of fabric stapled on and bits of tile attached. I thought interior decorator but no, just very organised. The guy was great though. He was so busy and in to it he worked up a sweat.

yy it is Shaded White.

MajorBumsore · 22/11/2011 13:33

I have shaded white in my living room. Some days it looks like a warm mossy colour, others pale grey and others putty. I love it. It is a warm colour.
