Bit of background, sold our smallish 3 bed semi for £147k last week and were planning on putting an offer in on a slightly larger 4 bed detached. Both are less than 10 years old so room sizes aren't fantastic, as is the case with most new builds! We're looking to offer £175k on the bigger house.
However, a while back, we also went to look at a massive 4 bed detached, been extended, great room sizes, bit older. We fell in love.....Grin
Bigger house on for offers over £205k (Scotland!) so we did out sums and offered £192k (cheeky) on Monday, which was
rejected. Upped the offer to £197k on Tuesday, also rejected. This afternoon we have bid £200k and this is our last throw of the dice as this is really stretching us. SO nervous now and stomach is in knots......we would probably never need to move, have two DDs and would like one more baby (if we are blessed) and house is close to family and loads of amenities ........please cross your fingers for DH and I?!

I will keep mine crossed for you x

Keeping fingers crossed for you, stay positive and excited if possible.
Any indication when you will get the decision back?

mohara · 17/11/2011 16:18

Thanks so much to both of you, trying to stay positive-their estate agent seems to think they are holding out for £205k, but she will be advising them to take £200!
We heard back within a couple of hours the last time....

Fingers crossed for you too - to hold out for the extra may lose them a deal.

NotAnotherNewNappy · 18/11/2011 16:37

Just giving your hand a little squeeze! Any word yet?

newgirl · 18/11/2011 16:40

that sounds like a sensible offer - are you in a good position? renting etc? very best of luck

ChristinedePizanne · 18/11/2011 16:41

A delay is good - it means they're agonising over it. I really hope you find out before the weekend!

MyDingaling · 18/11/2011 16:44

Fingers crossed for you too!
