After almost a year on this rollercoaster it could be about to come to nothing! :(

First had offer from buyers mid July. We accepted, offered on a house & waited for a survey to be booked. 3 weeks later we found out that one of the parties involved could not raise a mortgage so all was off. :( 3 weeks later we heard the mother was going to buy the house with her daughter, taking the credit risk husband out of the equation, so we again accepted. We had survey done on our house 2nd Sept & jumped through hoops to do all as required of the buyers solicitors. Then, when our deadline for exchange (because of school admissions) approached & we pushed as to what the hold up was we found out that the buyers lender pulled out of the deal as they were seemingly unaware the mother was part funding the purchase. Hmm We were told not to worry, they would be getting a fast track mortgage with another lender. 2 weeks on & still no survey booked or straight answers given Id had enough of being messed about & put the house back on the market hoping the buyers could pull something out of the hat, yet still nothing. :( Today we had a viewer who seems really interested. Apparently they can use all the papers from the solicitor of the previous timewasters if they agree to the "in house" conveyancing, so it could still be tied up within a few weeks. :) They are seeing the mortgage advisor tomorrow & hopefully will come good with an offer. PLEASE PLEASE we get something soon, this is doing my head in! :(

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Moving is very stressful. xx

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 15/11/2011 05:32

Fingers crossed!!

Hopefully everything will proceed to completion this time for you.

Our exchange and completion date, stalled several times during the process and eventually was pushed back by 5 weeks with several different dates being given but not kept to. We were concerned with all the changes, but we eventually exchanged and completed last week:).

I hope you are in soon.

I completely sympathise with how frustrated you must be feeling. It's amazing how all this makes you feel, and how long it all can drag on too. Sounds like you've been incredibly patient with the initial buyers.

After what should have been a simple house purchase we are finally, finally moving on Friday (3 months and 3 days of having our offer accepted!!)

Best of luck to you - I hope things move quickly for you now.

SP - sorry to read you're still not a lot further, I remember a few previous threads. Good luck this time round.

Banana and Seagal - good luck with your moves.

It never ceases to amaze me that estate agents take buyers' word for it that they have a mortgage.

Becaroooo · 17/11/2011 09:50

Good luck sp everything crossed for you x

We are supposed to complete on 30th!!!! :O

SparklePrincess · 17/11/2011 21:25

Well at the 11th hour all has come good! :) I feel incredibly lucky! :) Found out today what I was pretty certain of when the buyers original lender pulled out, that for some reason they cannot raise a mortgage. It's odd, as they have over 50% deposit, but there must be some reason for it. I blame the mortgage broker acting on their behalf & in conjunction with my EA. Hmm It should of been flagged up to the EA 2 months ago that the offer was not in yet. Its been a catalogue of incompetence from start to finish!

Anyway, now for the good news. :) The people that viewed on Monday have made an offer at 2.5k higher than the original one. This eases the pain somewhat. :)

It doesn't help with our school allocation for next September, as it is unlikely we will be able to move & prove our address by 16th December, so it will be a bit up in the air....

Fingers crossed for the 30th Becaroooo. :)

Oh, SP, you must be so happy tonight. Fingers crossed all works out well.

Good luck to you too, Becaroo.

Sparkle our house sale was like this; on, off, on, off. We applied for new school via our then LA because we just didn't know when we would move and it wouldn't be by school admission cut off date. Your LA just send the application to the relevant LA as an out of area application. So didn't have to prove new address. New area is 60 miles from where we were. I guess it depends if the school you are applying for is oversubscribed but it was fine for us.

TuftyFinch · 18/11/2011 21:04

Congratulations by the way Smile

SparklePrincess · 21/11/2011 23:11

Thanks guys! :) Im afraid we need to prove our new address by way of a council tax bill before it is accepted. :( The school is highly oversubscribed & my eldest would be no 4 on the waiting list using the new address once we've moved, so she will start at a school 3 miles away & change (if she wants to) once a place comes up. Its a nightmare! If we cant prove the address by the 16th my youngest will be offered a place at our current local school & would have to go on the waiting list even to get into the school 3 miles away that my eldest will be in at the time. Although this school isnt so highly regarded so she will most likely get in there with the sibling priority. If that doesn't work I can play the SEN card if need be...
