Curtains/blinds for 3 meter sliding patio doors

We are in the process of renovating our house and have just put 3 meter sliding (not folding) patio doors in our kitchen diner. I was thinking of getting two 1.5 m thermal roller blinds but was wondering if anyone has a better suggestion?

The room is painted white with an oak floor and table and will have an oak kitchen and white work tops when we can afford it (in about 20 years probably!). So I would like curtains or blinds with a bit of colour. Happy to go with curtains but again will need a bit of colour as the children will be running in and out the door so white will get dirty very quickly.

Any suggestions, websites etc.. would be great.

TIA

Where would the roller blinds go?
What would they be attached to?
if you had space on either side of the patio doors, I would prefer thermally lined curtains for a cosier look and to reduce the starkness of the White. fabrics to follow.

Lcy,
I cannot link, but please look at John Lewis wallflower fabric in catkin. I like this because the green background will go very well with your oak and contrast with the White walls, while the White in the fabric will reference your wall colour and worktops.
Laura Ashley Milkwood leaf in yellow is a similar idea in a different colour.

Thanks to you both for replying.

The roller blinds would hang within the recess but I think you are right and it will look a bit plain.

I love the Laura Ashley material.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

Am watching this thread as I have a 4 metre window and sliding door in one room, and 10 metres of window in an another.

Am looking for the thinnest thermal linings in the world for the big room, as blinds are too fiddly. At the moment I have 6 thin curtains on pull cords to do this job, but they're old, and heat-retaining replacement is needed.

Decision made. Curtains are not really going to work as not much space etither side of the window and I don't want to block any of the view having them hanging over the glass.

I am going to get these thermal blinds

although can't decide whether to hang in the recess or above the recess.

IMO in the recess looks better unless it will interfere with the workings of the doors.

I had some blinds for my french doors from solar sunshades, locally to me, in Bridgend. They fit on the doors themselves, on the glass, so when open, you can hardly see them at all. They are called Perfect Fit Blinds and they are great. They cost £100 per door.
