Would this decor offend your eyes?

we have this in our bedroom on two opposite walls, with one the wall sliding mirrored wardrobe and the opposite one in the green of the flowers.

Trying to get market ready, would rather NOT,decorate as its a large room, but would that put you off? Hoping people can see past decor!?

No it wouldn't offend my eyes. I presume yours still looks in good condition on your walls? Not half ripped with tea stains on it????

It's not actually to my taste ( but it doesn't make me go urgh) but it would not stop me buying a house. I know I could live with it and remove it if I wanted to.

When you like a house enough and fall in love with it then you can see past decor. I say this having bought a house with a bright red hall way and a bright blue carpet. Late at night with the hallway shining out through the front door it looked like a brothel. And it took us 3 yrs from moving in to redecorate it.

I think its quite pretty, it won't be to everyone's taste, but then things never are. It certainly wouldn't put me off buying a place (you should have seen OUR house, navy blue striped wallpaper and navy blue carpets in the lounge and dining room)

No, not at all. When I view houses, I am never put off by the decor as I know that it is only cosmetic. It probably helps that our first 5 houses were RAF married quarters where we had absolutely no control over anything in the house.

It is a lot better than some gawdy shiny theatre-set stuff I've come across - actually rather stylish. Does it make your room look overly dark? If it is a good sized room and you still get a good impression of size with natural light or nice lighting then I wouldn't think it was an issue at all.

I like to see a decorated room as it reflects care and attention you've put into the house. Newly magnolia'd walls have zero personaity and gives no idea of how a house has been cared for.

It's modern enough and subtle enough so don't worry about it.

Oh fabulous, that's great news, its very fresh, we had the paper for about two years before DH finally decorated and I'd gone off it by then but....

Room very light, not darkened by decor and bedding light etc too. Just need to get rid of stupidly huge sk bed now!!

Thanks all :)

It looks fine. Some of the 'feature wall' wallpapers hurt my eyes - the shiny triffid-like ones in red or purple or black being a favourite - but that one is very neutral.
Good luck Smile

i had that in my hall in grey/black at my last house, it's lovely, and when we sold up a couple of months ago, loads of viewers mentioned how much they liked the paper and were surprised it was cheap and cheerful stuff.

mylovelymonster · 30/10/2011 13:06

Why do you need to get rid of your SK bed? Does it take up the whole room? Viewers will be further impressed by the scale of the room if you point out it can comfortably house a SK bed!! >

EttiKetti · 30/10/2011 18:47

Want a new bed and feel too far away from DH in this one :o thought it might just look even bigger with just a king! Room is 16'x14' so no, it doesn't take up loads of room! Will think on it once decluttered, as its where the junk from the rest of the house has ended up for now....

Thanks for all positive comments, relieved to not have to decorate!!
