What professional do I need?

We are reluctant DIYers at the best of times and now find ourselves in a new house with three small children - will do it gradually but would really like to modernise the small sitting room (belonged to an old lady: inoffensive white walls but with a nasty textured paper). I want to install a woodburner; DH wants the television on the wall. I want it to look lovely.
So - has anybody ever employed somebody to design and carry out that sort of job? Who would I use - an interior designer? A painter/decorator/odd-job person with an eye? Any tips, recommendations? I just don't know where to begin!

PS I had to get the building regs chap out to give retrospective permission for the woodburner when we bought our previous house. He did not know his arse from his elbow and was generally perplexed by the whole request. He had a bit of a look at it, said yes I expect it is fine, and gave me a certificate.

PPS Television can't go in the corner if it going on the wall?

I think the wood burner would look best on the long wall, to the right of the tv. The tv would look best inside the big cupboard out of sight, to me, but otherwise where it is. A corner fire seems odd sorry.
Roman blinds in a bay look nice, maybe a neutral colour then a jazzy rug and cushions to tie in with the lamp.
I would leave above the high shelves white too, matching the celing and making it feel bigger. hTH

Ok, nice corner stoves! I still think they're going to project into the room too much, but the best thing is to get some tech support from yr local friendly installer Smile. Everything hinges on that really, because if you can't have one in the corner you either (a) abandon the idea of a stove or (b) have to have the TV in the corner (where it can't go on the wall) or (c) move the Korean cabinet somewhere else in the house! You should be able to work out yourself how far it will come into the room and then add 300mm for the hearth. Make a template and stick it on the floor and see what you think, then if you're still convinced get the professionals in.
