i have a karndean floor in a bedroom which I want removing. Anyone know how hard this stuff is to get up? Want to replace it with a carpet. I know there is a subfloor underneath it is stuck to. It is not stuck direct to the floorboards.

Is there any need to get it up? Couldn't you just put underlay and carpet on top?

was thinking about lifting it as its been down some years, is a bit bashed in places and just fell out with it a bit. Was thinking about just carpeting over but plan b if I don't lift it is to put down one of those huge area rugs you know the ones that fill a whole floor of a room. Just trying to fathom out how painful lifting it would be!

My Karndean is old chipped & tired (stained? thin?). Also, we removed units from the kitchen and the previous owners (who put down the Karndean) didn't put it in the spaces now revealed. We tried without sucess to get someone to come and fill in those areas with the American Oak effect or whatever tis called.
