Cost of a new boiler

Current boiler is on its last legs! It is a two bedroom terrace, so I think a small boiler would be ok. Does anyone have any idea how much a new boiler would be? I know (think?) we would also need to get the pipes/rads flushed. Would we need a new digital control panel as well (currently a honeywell brand one)? Anything else we need to know/consider. Not in a British Gas area so no need to steer clear of them.

i was given quotes for installing similar between £2OOO- £3000 Thecheapest one gives 5 year guarantee provided have annual service with them Potterton Gold and Vaillant eco are the v best also W bosch

I would estimate between £1100 and £1500. We paid £1700 for a bigger new boiler and some new plumbing works and radiators.

Pick an independent corgi registered plumber. Don't go for any of the bigger companies as they totally rip yo off - British Gas wanted £4k to do ours!

We've replaced boilers in all our house renovations and are constantly astounded by the amount bigger companies are prepared to charge.

We paid £2500 for a full new boiler/CH system in a two bed bungalow. This was all new rads, pipe work, nice towel rad in the bathroom this was Jan 2010. This year we paid £1500 for a boiler service and new rads in all rooms of a 2 bed bungalow.

Corgi has now been replaced by Gas Safe Register. Totally second feckwit, go with an independant. There is no benefit to going to a big company.

We paid £2000 in our 2 bed semi a few months ago - we could have had it a bit cheaper for about £1600 but then then the water pressure etc would have been rubbish (so I was told...) so we went for the medium priced one. It may depend what your pipes are like and how old your house is, and what they have to take out. As we had our awful 34 yr old back boiler and tank removed which was quite a lot of work, I was pleased with what we paid in the end.

I think we paid about £2k for large bosch one incl fitting and flush about 3 months ago. Was local independent gas registered bloke who did it.

about £1400 for a really good bosch one. Found a fitter on their website. He was local and brilliant. This was November 2010.

HoneyPablo- Not all systems provide hot water, if for example you have warm air central heating then you have the option of just the warm air to heat the house, in addition to an immersion heater for hot water. Two separate things, you see.

Make sure you get someone who is CORGI registered
