House Name - Baking Theme

Help me please!

For reasons I won't bore you with I have got to come up with a name for a house we are moving to. The whole family want it to have a baking theme as there is always some sort of cake in the oven. I don't want it to be really cheesy so am hoping you can help.

So far, the best we have come up with is The Bake House - which is BORING!

I have no idea but as there is always a cake in the oven, can I move in?

Er, Happy Ever Afters?

Bunbaker · 28/06/2011 17:54

Adair · 28/06/2011 18:05

The Bakery
Bakers Dozen
Something Risen... er

Bunroamin is hilarious Grin

This gives you the top 50 names
House name rules
and maybe some inspiration.

Chateau Gateau?

Bunroamin is inspired.

GrendelsMum · 28/06/2011 18:27

There's no competition. It must be called Bunroamin and Bunbaker must be sent a batch of buns immediately.

senua · 28/06/2011 18:28

The Gingerbread House

"There's no competition. It must be called Bunroamin and Bunbaker must be sent a batch of buns immediately."

Ooh, goody Grin

microserf · 28/06/2011 19:55

another vote for Bunroamin.

It's just as well i am not buying it as i would be sure to name it something naff like "Another bun in the oven" or "The Cake House".

Happy reading....www.housenameheritage.com/hnh_ng_5000_2.asp?offset=0

Think about the words associated with baking. There are different types of cakes, buns, puddings, breads, pastries. Then think of the ingredients, the cooking methods....you may get a burst of inspiration whilst doing the most boring of household chores such as supermarket shopping.

Look at the packets or if you get a few spare mins go to online supermarket products to see if anything springs to mind.

Baxter is a ye olde word for baker, I think specifically a female baker.

But I do like Bunroaming :)

GoingLoopyLou · 28/06/2011 22:40

I cannot go with BunRoaming, as inspired as I agree it is Grin

Liking the Baxter idea too, might be able to work with that.

I'm curious as to why your new house needs a name at all. Does it also have a number? Our house has a name and a number, but we never use the name. A house with just a name and no number is very difficult to find because you have no idea which end of the road it is on or where it is relative to the other houses.

GoingLoopyLou · 29/06/2011 07:37

There is no number. The houses on the street are all named and it has no numbers. Only about ten houses though.

I LOVE Chateau Gateau! Grin
The Granary would work?

nocake · 29/06/2011 10:22

If your house has no number then it will already has a name, which will be used by the post office and every company you deal with to address post to you. If you change it you'll cause yourself all sorts of problems.

LisMcA · 29/06/2011 10:28

Not if its a new build though, the first owners get to name the property.

Portofino · 29/06/2011 10:34

Crumpet Corner?

Muffin Cottage

Sidge · 29/06/2011 10:50

Floury Baps?

Victorious Sandwich?

Sponge Corner?

Flapjack Cottage?

GoingLoopyLou · 29/06/2011 12:25

I've GOT to re name it as I said in my OP, the reasons are boring and not necessary for the discussion.

You've all been really helpful and I'll let you know the outcome when I put it to the family vote.
