Is it any good. We have a house built in 1920's and its a bugger to heat. A firm came out and said it was suitable for the thermal beads.
Any experience

I'm wondering this too. We are in the process of buying a 1990's house without it. I thought it would be an obvious money/heat saver, but now I'm wondering about ventilation in the double glazed house and whether cavity wall would increase condensation problems?

Our old 1950 house had it put in years ago, before we owned it, but I have no before and after to compare it with - and the drafty doors and downstairs bare boards gave us a lot of ventilation anyway!

We had a quote for it and nearly went for it but read a lot of negative stuff online about increase in condensation and the drilling they have to do to get it in causing problems with plasterwork etc. We are going for loft insulation instead as seems a safer bet!

See, loft insulation (increasing it that is) I am happy with - I know the roof space still needs to breathe but I can lay space blanket stuff quite happily .... and then take it up again if needed! Whereas cavity wall is rather permanent.....
