paddock wood and primary schools

I am moving next year to kent and am still undecided on the town or village we will be moving to. Paddock Wood ticks a lot of practical boxes such as train distance, shops, decent non grammer secondary school and much more for my money property wise than the neighbouring areas.

However, having googled paddock Wood i have only ever read negative things about it. I know peoples ideas of problem areas can differ greatly but coming from an estate in south london i think i might have a higher tolerance of so called anti-social behaviour.

i know you cant rely totally on the internet to know a place so would be greatful for any comments good bad or otherwise

I dont know much about paddock wood but can really recommend Bearsted or Madgingford just outside maidstone. Bearsted is the best (I live there) and you can walk to the station but is pricey (we bought here 14 years ago). Madgingford is cheaper and benefits from the great schools etc its just further to walk to the station and village green

Paddock wood is a v nice place to live but be aware it is NOT in grammar catchment as mascalls is designated an all ability school. It is possible to get into some of the tonbridge or Maidstone grammars via high scores or waiting lists, but stressful. Generally the areas closer to tonbridge/ t wells are nicer than the areas around Maidstone but it does depend where you want to commute to. Pm me if I can help more!
