crystal chandelier in a dining extension with a rooflight

Am really tempted by a crystal antique chandelier [1900's] to suspend from the rooflight .Bearing in mind i hate the Clive Christian adverts with chandeliers twinkling in the kitchen [think kitchens should be practical!].This room is open to the kitchen and has a very large old walnut table in it.Am i becoming menopausal? or is my intuition correct.

depends on what the rooflight looks like and what style of house you have

Large 3 by 1.5 metre rooflight on a large upstand [due to warm roof construction].House is an large edwardian villa with good views of hills.Rest of furniture is an eclectic mix with lots of antique furniture [walnut table is 1900's]-but i have never liked crystal chandeliers until now.Have already discussed with builder who has suggested it will sparkle in the sun [but i suspect is used to humouring me]!.

I am thinking about doing this in mine and think it will look fab.... however as my roof light is PVC I am not sure how it would hold the chandelier and also how the new electrics would need to be routed?

Can you check with the company that built the conservatory?.Or failing that get an electrician round to have a look.I was worried about ours not taking the weight so checked with the electrician and builder before i bought it.Builder will have to drill through the aluminium to construct a support for the light as it really does weigh a tonne.Mulranno have to seen any pictures with this done?.I would like to show dh some photographs as he is very dubious about the idea.
