Anyone bought from betterbathrooms.com? There website looks reasonable but, well, who knows?

Everyone is banging on about where the suite comes from and not the detail. Quality varies and what store you use is irrelevant.

You want to gain the best spec from your budget and watch for cheap packages because the taps look pretty.

Go for brands like amitage, villery etc not own brands. The thickness of the bath is important. You can pay a little extra and get much harder baths. Ceramic is painted in layers, cheaper less layers of paint and be warned doesnt keep clean and the finish isnt pristine. The toilet stains quicker too.

I would go to an independant store where you get advice for your budget or buy branded from plumb city etc.

Internet stores are fine there are some amazing companies selling real quality. You can view branded catalogues on-line.

Cheap taps lose their coating and look terrible.

We used betterbathrooms, and have been really please with what we got, we were going to get a roll top bath, along with the basin, loo and radiator/twoel rail but had a bit of extra money so didn't but would have been very happy to buy one from them.

We bought our sink unit and toilet from Better bathrooms and were very pleased with the delivery time and the products themselves.
We already had a bath, and bought our shower and taps etc from Tool Station!

Victoria Plumb

We used bathstore.com a couple of times and they were really quick and efficient.

B&Q basic bathroom suite totally okay (around £200 I think) - especially if you chuck out the plastic bath panel and upgrade the taps. No one will ever know.... In fact, we even had our old one photographed for a style feature in a magazine. As with a lot of things, if you have taste, price doesn't come into it, it's how you put it together.

Latest one is Wickes and the horrible cheapo version at that - has naff "shaping" round the end, and the loos are all cloakroom loos instead of full size - avoid, avoid, avoid!!! It was here when we moved in and somehow I've not got round to ripping it all out yet....

I have checked B & Q and looks like prices and quality is ok.?
I will have to just change all for new-bath/toilet/sink.
i was thinking also about to put new tiles as well from B & Q.

Warning - do not buy from Better Bathrooms.

We were really disappointed with the after-sales service from Better Bathrooms.

Despite spending over £2,000 on three new bathroom suites from Better Bathrooms, when we wanted to return 1 towel rail, they made it impossible. They did everything they could to make it difficult to return the item, were rude during the process, and tried to avoid paying us back our money.

We will never use Better Bathrooms again; and we advise you against it. I wish we had read some of the many bad reviews before we placed our order...

I saw the tread re buying a new bathroom and want to share my experience of using Better Bathrooms. Having paid almost £700 for a suite and accessories the pedestal fell apart after being taken out of the box and carried upstairs by the plumber.
The customer services department accused me of damaging the goods and kept quoting the 28 day rule regarding reporting any damages. Despite telling staff that it must have been faulty and was not fit for purpose she basically called me a liar and even after reviewing the pictures I sent her, simply said I had damaged it and refused a refund or replacement.
Having pressed her with regards to my consumer rights all she eventually- and eventually being the key word here, said I can have a replacement "as a goodwill gesture." The pedestal cost £29 but the delivery price is £35.95.
Having looked at other people's experiences before buying I would have avoided this company as the goods are shoddy and the customer care non existent.
What I have learned from this experience is to check other people's reviews and in this case avoid Better Bathrooms like the plague!!!

I would NOT recommend anyone to buy from Betterbathrooms. Their customer service is probably the worst I have ever come across.

Order placed on Thursday the 18th, it was still not dispatched until Tuesday the 23rd. Spoke to customer services someone called Colin answered the phone who was rude, I asked to speak to a manager and was told he is busy on another line and someone will call me shortly. No manager had called so then I called again and Janine answered the phone who requested another call back as apparently managers were all on the phone again and promised a call back shortly. After several hours had passed I phoned again to speak to Steph who said she couldnt keep me on the phone to wait and speak to the manager and she would have to hang up on me.

As soon as I told her I will write to all the directors of the company if a manager didnt speak to me within 20 minutes she suddenly found that a manager was available to talk on the phone. Paddy, the line manager came on the line who was as useless as the other bunch couldnt care less that his team were pathetic and made false promises and rubbish excuses as to why the order still hadnt been dispatched after 5 days despite EVERYTHING on the order was IN STOCK!!!

The order was cancelled and a refund has been promised to be made in 2-3 working days. Lets see if this promise is dealt with or not.

Do not buy from them, do not be fooled by the low prices they offer. I can almost guarantee that if anything goes wrong with the products you order in the future they will not give a damn! DONT waste your money!! My order was for £2,447.86.

I have done a company check on the company and found
The company directors are:
Peter Stevens (The main owner)
Colin Stevens (Most likely Peter's Son)
Paul John Thomas Gilbert
David Colclough

Please avoid Better Bathrooms, not only are their products of a poor quality, there aftercare service is appalling. Have a look at Wickes products. You may be better off just ordering the suite you like form a supplier and then find you own plumber. I did that I think it was a cheaper option.
